The 22nd Annual Humane Society Doggie Carnival

The Humane Society Doggie Carnival is back in Forsyth Park on Sunday May 5th 2024 from 12pm-4pm.

Doggie Carnival is an annual gathering of thousands of dog lovers in Forsyth Park. The carnival has food, drinks, doggie derby, bounce houses, cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream and many dog and kid friendly games and activities.

The Doggie Derby crowns the unofficial fastest dog in Savannah in a small and large dog category. See your pup race against other dogs and if they win their heat they can participate in the playoff bracket at 3pm. And if they lose, or run the opposite direction, lay down or just play with the fans in the crowd - well that's part of the fun! This year we'll have 2 tracks for the SwiftPaws Speed Trap event. We'll have a SwiftPaws (swiftpaws.com) track set up with a speed detector and fastest top speed of the day wins! We'll also have some fenced off areas for your dog to play with one of our giant soccer balls at the Horne Law Firm World Pup (made for horses but it's way more fun for dogs!) and an agility course.

And don't worry all of these events are designed for 'amateur' dogs so bring them out and have some fun competing - your dogs will love it!

Thank you to Woof Gang Bakery for sponsoring the 22nd annual Doggie Carnival!

Funds raised from the Doggie Carnival support the Humane Society for Greater Savannah. HSGS is the largest no-kill shelter in the state of Georgia outside of Atlanta and finds homes for about 2,500 animals per year. Our clinic Pet Fix Savannah performed almost 9,000 spay/neuter surgeries last year.
