Meet the Team


The Staff of Humane Society for Greater Savannah is engaging in a proactive approach to end animal homelessness in our community.

At its core is the Pet Fix Savannah team, as having a high volume, low-cost, spay-neuter clinic is essential to reducing our homeless pet population.

Our team also aims to provide a safety net to families struggling to care for their pets through a pet food pantry, housing assistance, training resources, and medical care.

People will continue to face struggles and have to make the difficult decision to surrender their pets.

Our Operations team is committed to providing high-quality care to our community’s homeless pets.

William Brown III
William brings more than eleven years of experience in shelter operations with specialization in canine emergency management, canine training and shelter management. Previously he served as the Director of Global Security at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and as the Acting Deputy Director at the Pentagon Access Control Division. Brown is a retired United States Air Force Veteran. In his free time, he enjoys creating music, photography and spending time with his wife Letoya, three kids and two dogs (Bradley and Oreo).

Leadership Team

Dr. Tim Williams, DVM
Dr. Williams recently moved from Richmond, VA, so that he could join the team at the Humane Society of Greater Savannah. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, and he is passionate about shelter medicine and spay/neuter. He and his wife, Jennifer, share their home with their four cats, Scout, Paiamwahu, Herman, and Cadette. They have been wanting to relocate to Savannah for quite some time, so they couldn't have been more excited when this opportunity became available

Operations Team

Courtney Foor
Operations Manager
Courtney graduated from SCAD with a degree in Graphic Design and a M.A. in Teaching Art. She was a middle school Media Art teacher for five years in South Carolina and a volunteer leader at HSGS for two years before joining our team. She is originally from upstate New York, but Savannah has been her home for the last twelve years.
Rachel Bryan
Shelter Medicine Manager
Rachel is originally from South Florida and moved to Savannah in 2017 with her husband Nick, two cats, and two dogs. She has a BS in Sociology from the College of Charleston and a Masters in Public Administration from Florida International University. She has 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and in 2016 decided to pursue her passion in veterinary medicine and train as a veterinary assistant at a private animal hospital in Florida. After two years in private practice, she decided her heart will always be in sheltering and is thrilled to be a part of the shelter medical team at HSGS. Rachel is passionate about providing a high level of health care for the shelter pets and enjoys having a small part in each pets's journey to their new home.

Kathryn Shelton, JD
Volunteer Coordinator
Kathryn is a former family law attorney who has lived in Savannah for the last eight years. In 2016, she began fostering dogs for GRRR (Georgia Rescue Rehabilitation & Relocation) and eventually became the director of the organization. After helping start up the Savannah Chatham-Sustainability Coalition and working on a political campaign, she decided to combine her love of working in non-profits and helping animals and joined HSGS as Volunteer Coordinator. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking...even for her dogs!

Biz Austin
Community Outreach Coordinator
My name is Biz - a nick name given to my by my older brother. I am currently residing in Savannah, Georgia with a career as a Community Outreach Coordinator at The Humane Society of Greater Savannah. My mission is to educate the community on ways to get involved - even while living a busy lifestyle. It’s so important for everyone to know, that one small act of kindness can truly make a difference in the world! I am very involved in the community and feel passionate about learning from others and building strong relationships, both professionally and personally.
Jalil Bowman
Thrift Shop Manager - Sallie Mood Store
Jalil has been greeting and helping customers since he was a child working in his family’s business in New Jersey. He relocated to Savannah from New Jersey in 2015.
Charles Davis
Thrift Shop Manager - Abercorn Store
Charles Davis has over fifteen years of experience in retail store management, store operations and customer service. Charles worked as a Global Security Specialist/ Corporate Investigator for Gulfstream Aerospace. Charles is a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his spare time, Charles enjoys deep sea fishing, Golfing and spending time with his family, wife (Rachel) and four kids (Dante, Jabree, Caleb, and Jacob) and two dogs (Zoe and Shy).
Jennifer Ray
Development Director
A recent Savannah transplant, Jennifer brings ten years experience in fundraising and event/program operations as well as a life long passion for all animals to the Humane Society team. She holds a B.A. in Art History from Vanderbilt University and a M.A. in Public History from Middle Tennessee State University. She enjoys lounging on the beach, historical fiction novels and oddities shops.
