Fostering is a job for everyone, including you! But that doesn’t mean you have to be an expert - you just have to be willing to learn. To help you do that, Maddie's Fund developed Flash Classes.
Just like the name implies, these short, instructional classes cover individual topics that foster care givers encounter while caring for our beloved furry friends. Flash Classes give you all the information you need to provide the best care for your foster pet in a condensed, to-the-point format.

What are the requirements of becoming a foster pet-parent?
Can I adopt my foster animals?
YES! While we hope our foster volunteers choose to open their homes as a demonstration of their commitment to making a difference in the lives of animals in need, we understand that you may fall in love and find the perfect companion for your family.
Is there a time commitment?
The length of foster assignments varies based on the needs of the animal. You will receive an approximate duration before you commit to an animal.
When HSGS is preparing for Hurricane Season and we are in need of foster parents for our pets IN THE EVENT the shelter needs to evacuate.
