Savannah, GA – Humane Society gearing up for Doggie Carnival
Corndog, Shelter Resident

Hi! I’m Corndog the Bassador. A nice lady named Kate came to Animal Control one day and brought me back to the Humane Society. I’m hanging out here now, waiting on a foster home so I can get my heartworm treatment. Sometimes when it’s quiet at the shelter, I get to go visit some of the Development staff in the their offices. Those are my favorite days because I get all the dirt about what’s going on at the shelter. As resident of HSGS, that’s important! I’ve got to be kept in the loop. This week, I learned all about the Doggie Carnival and boy have I got stuff to tell you! In case you don’t know, the definition of carnival is goodsmellstreatsfun. That’s right up my alley!

This year’s Doggie Carnival is going to be Sunday, May 3 at Forsyth Park from 12 to 4 pm. and you need to take your person! From what I’ve heard, there are going to be some really fun activities this year for all of my furry friends out there! There will be biscuit eating contests, a doggy derby where you can show off your speed, and canine yoga and massages for you and your humans! There will be other fun stuff for your people too. They can try to dunk local vets in the dunk tank, take photos in the photobooth (maybe you can photobomb!) and let their little people jump in the bounce house.

And the food, oh the food! There will be cotton candy, popcorn, King of Pops popsicles and food by the truckful sponsored by Savannah Food Truck Festival –  there will be so many good smells it’s basically going to be dog heaven. For my fellow, four-legged compadres whose people are in the twenty-one and over crowd I heard there will be this thing called a beer truck with beer from Southbound, SweetWater and Miller Lite. I’ll be sticking to water, but that’s because I’m only one… and, I’m a dog.

Any music fans out there? Apparently The Train Wrecks are going to be playing at 4 pm. Some of my shelter friends, now in their forever homes, have seen them play with their people. They tell me they are pretty awesome so I’m pumped about getting my wag on.

And this whole event? It’s presented by Woofgang Bakery. Haven’t visited their City Market store yet? You should get your person to take you ASAP – it’s a dog’s dream.

I hope to see you at the Carnival on May 3! I’ll be the impossibly adorable, low to the ground one in the Adopt Me vest!
