Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New HSGS Transport Van
The Humane Society for Greater Savannah is excited to announce the celebratory ribbon cutting for its new transport van will take place Friday, September 22 at 9:00 AM in the HSGS parking lot. This event is open to the public and the community is invited and encouraged to attend.
The funding for this van was generously provided by the community and Fix Georgia Pets.
This van will allow the Humane Society for Greater Savannah to solve the pet overpopulation problem in coastal Georgia by being both proactive and reactive.
Supply & Demand (reactive): The transport vehicle will be used to move homeless pets to areas of the country where there is a higher demand for them and a higher likelihood that they will be adopted.
Access to Pet Services (proactive): A transport van will also help HSGS reach those who we wouldn’t normally be able to assist. Transportation is a barrier to those living in poverty. By eliminating this barrier, HSGS can provide spay/neuter and other veterinary services.
The van arrived just before Hurricane Irma so we were able to put it to good use transporting our shelter pets to safety.
